I have been looking for things to do and places to go to take some pictures and found some cool upcoming events that I am interested in going to. I don't know if I am actually going to get to go to all (or even most of these). A lot will depend on scheduling, weather and other considerations. But what I have noticed is that when I do go to something and come back with stories and photos, I often hear "why didn't you tell me you were going to do this? I would have LOVED to go along." And sometimes I decide not to go to something because I didn't want to go alone (while Rob is at work or something like that) only to find out later that someone would have been interested in going with me.

So I have decided to send out an announcement every once in a while and let you guys know what I am looking at. That way, if anyone is interested in coming along or going on their own (if I don't get to go for whatever reason) you can let me know and I can keep you in the loop when making plans. Anyway, if you want more information about something or want to be included in something, drop me a line or give me a call and if you are doing a day trip or know of an event that I haven't put on here (and wouldn't mind some company) please let me know. I am always looking for something to do and something to take photos of.

A Few Things Before We Start:

• Obviously, this message is intended for people I actually know, aka my family and friends. I am not asking for strangers to come and hang out with me and when it comes time to arrange things, I will do so via email and the phone so that I am not posting anything private on the web.
• Secondly, I did not write up any of the event descriptions. They are mostly taken from event / site web sites. Plus, I have not actually been to many of these events or places myself so please do take this as an endorsement of any kind. I just liked the sound of it and want to check it out and that is the extent of my connection to any of these places or events.
• Lastly, I am not saying that I am definitely going to all of these events. Scheduling, weather, money, gas, logistics all are going to impact what I can and cannot do. Please don't count on me to go somewhere unless you have spoken to me first.

For the past twenty-nine years, the Three Village Historical Society has presented its Candlelight House Tour, a spectacular showcase of select local homes decked out in dazzling holiday finery by talented local decorators. The tour will feature grand homes replete with stunning architectural features, customized interior design and striking original art by renowned local and other artists.

Not scheduled or planned but I would love to fit in as much of these as possible:

• I want to go out to a vineyard and take pictures, possibly do a wine tasting but more likely take pictures of someone else tasting wine.
• I want to go to the Met, the Museum of Natural History / Hayden Planetarium, the NY Botanic Garden in the Bronx, Fort Tyron Park / The Cloisters
• I want to take the kids out the Long Island Game Farm at some point.
• I would like to go looking for deer at Heckscher State Park or Robert Moses Park
• And if I could find one, I would love to see a performance of Handel's Messiah, preferably by candlelight or in a really pretty church (I saw one years ago around Christmas time and have been trying to find a repeat performance ever since) Let me know if you see anything because I would really love it!!
